Annexation of Hawaii

The message of this cartoon is the annexation of Hawaii. The other message of this cartoon is about the queen in Hawaii not allowing Americans to harvest sugar because she thought it was still her land. The Queen's name is Queen Liliuokalani.Other opinions people might have are that American sugar harvesters should have been allowed to harvest their sugar. The technique used in this cartoon is symbolism because Uncle Sam is representing the U.S. It also uses labeling because it labels the sugar barrel. The Americans started getting more power and could then harvest sugar in Hawaii. The queen was only in control for a while until it became part of the United States.
